Jacksonville, Fla. - Brad Hand allowed two runs and three hits over six innings in his first Double-A game while a Jeff Corsaletti pinch-hit single in the sixth inning drove in the go-ahead runs leading the Jacksonville Suns (78-58, 38-28) to a 6-2 win over the Tennessee Smokies (83-52, 41-25) in front of 1,883 Thursday afternoon at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
Suns RH Tom Koehler was named the Southern League's Most Outstanding Pitcher while 3B Matt Dominguez, SS Osvaldo Martinez, Utility Man Vinny Rottino and RH Elih Villanueva were all named to the Southern League's 2010 Postseason All-Star Team. Carolina Mudcats outfielder Dave Sappelt was awarded the Southern Leagues Most Valuable Player Award.
For decades, the Jacksonville Suns have always been a consistent producer of baseball talent for the Major Leagues. The Suns are making another run for the Southern League Championship in 2010 and there are sure to be more future Marlins in that group.

The Suns will host the first two games of the Southern League Divisional Playoff Series at the Baseball Grounds against an opponent still to be determined. Game 1 will be held on Thursday September 9th and Game 2 on Friday September 10th. Both games will begin at 7:05pm. Kids will be admitted free to all Playoff games courtesy of Walgreens.
